Stella Solveig (she/her) is a violinist, singer-songwriter, composer, and folk-singing fairy in Chicago, IL, whose work combines her classical violin training with her lifelong love of folk music, musical theater, and improvisation. As a soloist, Stella is an engaging presence, singing high and clear with her heart on her sleeve while earnestly weaving tales with her violin and guitar. As a session musician, Stella is a creative and flexible collaborator, bringing a special spark to her fellow artists’ works. She sings and fiddles with the band Measuring Marigolds, and has recorded and performed with beloved alternative folk rock and country acts in the city, including Holy Joke, Hannah Frey, Iris Marlowe, QueerCountry Bandwagon, Opsonize, and Sara Geist.
